Kerry rally in Phoenix draws 150 hispanic leaders and LUINA members
Edited on Sat Sep-13-03 03:56 PM by DJcairo
Tom-AZ writes on the Kerry blog:

Hey Everyone, a little report from the trail.

We're right now in the Green Valley, Arizona public library, awaiting our chance to speak. Councilman and former Speaker and Majority leader of the Cali State Assembly is stumping AZ for Kerry today.

PHOENIX was one word ---> I-N-S-A-N-E

We had a rally for Kerry with over 150 Hispanic leaders and Hispanics from the local Laborers LUINA hall in downtown Phoenix.

Trust me, for the sleeping giant that never roars, this was BIG. No one has gotten that many Hispanics out at 8:30 am for a Rally, even Rep. Ed Pastor can't do that.

If Dean has an achilies heel, its minority support and Kerry has it.

Rep. Miranda and Rep. Downing abandoned Lieberman and switched to us today.

Letme finish with this, this campaign has just begun. A Dean campaigner told me he was looking for us at the ASU game for the tailgate Kerry train and he had a 30 pack of "Bush Lite for our Bush Lite candidate"

That set me off!

That makes me get up 2 hours earler every day and 3 hours later each night because at that momment I realized that its ours to lose and ours to win. Its our ideas versus their ideology.

They have lots of ideology and no ideas. Their ideology though makes them support raising taxes on the poor and middle class that no real democrat would do. Our ideas free the middle class.

Their ideas wants to get rid of NCLB, our ideas want to fix it.

Their ideology says to pull out of Iraq, our ideas say "win the peace".

I could go on and on, but g'luck bloggers and keep up the good fight!

1. And Deanies complain about namecalling. Sheesh.
How a Dean campaign worker can call Kerry "Bushlite" while supporting a longtime cemtrist like Dean is astoundingly ignorant of Kerry's liberal record.

3. That Dean supporter was rude
but Tom's post reflects the ongoing obsession with all things Dean. You guys need to get away from that. It's not working and it can't work.

In addition, repeating a falsehood doesn't make it true, and most people won't buy into it anyway. Dean does not advocate pulling out of Iraq, and he never has. As far as NCLB, Governor Dean warned Vermonters about it back when he was Governor. He's been against it from the get go. He's right. It's a disaster. It's making schools worse, not better.

Today, Dean supporters are raising money on line through their virtual steak fry, cleaning beaches, collecting food for foodshelves, and hosting house parties across the nation. This positive activist approach is keeping Dean in the headlines and ahead in the polls that count- state polls. Kerry supporters need to start focusing on building Kerry's campaign and stop trying to tear down Dean's.

4. sheesh--Kerry is the "reactionist" candidate
I just searched the Dean blog for Kerry's name and came up with exactly one hit: a Dean quote asking Kerry "to lay out a constructive vision" for the peace process in the Middle East. Time spent backbiting about the other candidates is time wasted. If Dean did that he would be as mediocre as Kerry.

5. That's because Kerry people don't troll it
Unlike the Kerry blog which is bombarded with whiny Dean people every 5 minutes.

6. I doubt those are Dean people
bombarding the Kerry blog. There are trolls on Dean's blog too and I doubt that any of them are Kerry people.

8. Just checked
On the Steak Fry blog, not one comment with any glowing reports from other candidate's supporters and no bashing of Dean either. 71 posts. Dean people come to the Kerry thread literally every 5 minutes. And some of the same names that are on the Dean blog and obviously Dean supporters . If you guys are annoying all the other candidates in the same way, you're doing yourself no favors.

10. I think the Dean supporters
are annoying the other candidates in a different way.

Is it possible that trolls are assuming Dean blog names to turn Kerry and Dean supporters against each other? Would Dean supporters really benefit from invading Kerry's blog to piss people off? C'mon don't fall for that old tactic.

11. Denial
Bashing doesn't happen on DU and it doesn't happen on other candidates' blogs. It's all a Rove conspiracy. But these swift Rovians don't bash in return on Dean's blog. Dean's blog 71 posts, no bashes. Kerry blog, 371 posts, second one down, a bash. It's like that every minute of the day.

12. Denial is not just a river in egypt
it is sandnsea's favorite answer. ;)

I think that the Dean blog has better moderators to keep the crap out. But I will not try to deny you of your convictions. I just think that it is more likely that trolls on both blogs are of the republican persuasion, YMMV.

13. Well
sometimes you just have to say something over and over before you can break through. Provide the evidence, repeat the word. Expect it. And no, I don't think we censor our blog.

7. "Their ideas wants to get rid of NCLB, our ideas want to fix it."
And perhaps if you spoke with some teachers, you'd understand why NCLB needs to go. It's not 'broken' because it's not funded. It's just a bad law that will end up making many more teachers leave the profession and is ultimately hurting our children. Look into it, you'll see what I mean.

9. I know what it is
Setting some standards that schools should meet isn't a bad idea. The way this law does it is. And no it isn't just an issue of funding and Senator Kerry knows that. Go read his comments on education. There's alot of them and he understands education issues very well. His sister is a teacher, a laid off teacher last I knew.
