I saw Howard Dean today...he liked my DU shirt! |
|
I attended the "rally in the valley' for Howard Dean in Hudson, NY today! There was a pretty good sized crowd considering that Hudson is pretty far from Albany or NYC, and the weather was either very hot or raining (it rained for less than a half hour- stopping just about as Dr. Dean arrived). He gave a short speech and we did a lot of cheering. Afterwards he shook hands and gave autographs. When he got to me he read my Democratic Underground shirt (the revolution will not be televised), laughed, and said, "I like that."

there were about 300 people there, pretty good for such a small town of only 8,000. I didn't watch the news today, but I assume that all the local stations covered it, there were definetly alot of camaras and reportors there.

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2003/09/20/national1902EDT0624.DTL<snip> "Standing with the Hudson River behind him, along with four kayakers carrying Dean signs, the former Vermont governor said that when it comes to the New York primary in March, "New York City will be a donnybrook" because he and the other candidates would all get strong support there.
In a move designed to highlight his attention to New York beyond the Big Apple -- and the other candidates' lack of attention to the region -- Dean told an enthusiastic crowd of more than 750 people on the Hudson, N.Y., waterfront, "I think I'm the first presidential candidate to come to Hudson since Bobby Kennedy" in 1968. <snip>

I did a "solitary activist" on Dean Visibility Day...but I heard about the "Rally in the Valley"...nice to hear from someone who was actually there!

6. Thanks for sharing. That is a good crowd. |
|
If that is the size of the town that is a huge crowd. Jealous of you. Love the revolution not televised. Perfect!
