Has Trippi Lost It?
I just read on the Dean Blog that the bat goal for the last 10 days of the month is $5 million bucks. That seems impossible to me. I'm going to send my $100.00, but holy batman, batman, that's a lot of money to try and raise in 10 days. If he falls short, what are the repercussions?

1. I've thought every challenge
was impossible, but they've met every goal. Doubled the $250,000 for Cheney's fundraiser, got $1M the weekend of Bush's fundraiser, looks like they will meet the 450,000 people to sign up by the end of the month. Why not set a high goal, when his supporters have shown time and agian that no goal is unobtainable? I'll be donating to the bat, as will most Deanies. I'll not be surprised if they exceed $5M in the 10 day period.

6. Five million is a pittance.
We've got so many more people signed up this quarter than last (I heard somewhere that it's twice as many? True?) and we raised more than that last quarter.

I'd like to see the forty million goal reached.

8. $5Mil is no pittance...
but you would think out of over 400,000 registered backers on the internet that 10,000 of them could afford $500 a piece. At least I'm hoping so.

Because that's not how it will happen. It will be 100,000 people giving $50.

I am about $850 short of the limit, but I do want to save some for next quarter...or should I go all in? What do you guys think? I don't want to be left out of any bat challenges next quarter, but this seems like the time.

Thoughts?

29. Dean has a weird way of making those goals
I thought all the bats were crazy, and the rates were too low for most of the time. But then, something happens towards the end and thousands of people start pouring in and we smash the goals.

I didn't think he was going to make 450,000, but he's only 40,000 away with 10 days to go.

The Dean campaign has some serious mojo.

32. only 5 million??
I seriously thought we'd be shooting for something near a 40,000,0000 total for the quarter -- but I guess that might have been a little extreme.

It seems that 5,000,0000 in the last ten days is just be toooo easy. If just half of the 400,000 on-line donate fifty dollars each - that would be 10,000,000.

That's what I'd aim for.

37. God do I feel like a slacker
I have had a financially terrible summer. I haven't been able to give anything since June. I will finally get a decent check on Sept 27 so if I can find a way to get him the money fast enough I can add some then (I don't do credit cards). In any case I am glad some Dean supporters are doing well on this. Thanks to all of you.

38. Are proceeds from the Sept. 29 houseparties going toward this???
I'm going to be participating in one that day here locally. Since I'm lending my body to help, I was told I didn't have to pay to go (I've been unemployed for six months, so the person holding it knows I'm not rolling in dough). However, I have gotten some money from my financial aid office at school, so I can at least give $25.

Should I give to the bat or wait for the houseparty?

And then no matter how much we raise, the story will be that we failed to meet the goal on the bat.
