Get Involved...Take Your Country Back!!! |
|
As you know, Howard Dean has put up his bats to seek mainstream support for his run for the Presidency. I know that most of you have already decided on a candidate...but I'm going to ask anyway that each of you check out Deanforamerica.com and review the Governors positions on the issues.
We're in a different atmosphere now that it is apparent that any of our candidates can beat Bush. It's no longer a search for the best National Security candidate, it's a search for the candidate with the best ideas to bring America back from the brink.
It looks as though we're going to have an election where we can actually vote our hearts instead of who we think matches up the best against Bush.
Thanks

If you like the political status quo, remain in keyboard pundit mode.
If you want to take back your party and your nation, it's time to fight the good fight with all you got.

But I think it might be harder to 'take this country back' than you appear to be anticipating. Maybe its because I live in a largely Republican state, but while Bush's numbers are fading, it still does not seem like a slam dunk to me. I am not completely sure about the accuracy of polling, for one thing. It isn't as if they ask people, "Write in the blood of your firstborn child who you would vote for if the election were held today and if you misrepresent your intentions, we will come and take said child away." People will say any old thing sometimes. I also think that public opinion (when it comes to polling)swings with the headlines. Bush is taking a hit right in the news for various problems. Let any one of those straighten out and have Bush get some good press and his poll numbers will swing back up. I do agree that he is, over all, in a pretty crappy position these days. But an upswing in the economy or another terrorist attack or the situation in Iraq changing and his numbers could start back up.
