Dean's 1st Two Days' Total: $581,846.38

Some good news to share!

Howard Dean just concluded the first two days of his ten day end-of-third-quarter fundraising drive. The goal is an astounding $5 million. That's a tough goal!

But, combining Sunday and Monday, the total raised so far is $581,846.38, or 11.64% of the goal. With 9,294 contributors to date, that's an average contribution of $62.60 per person. That contrasts extraordinarily well with Bush's $2,000 per person fundraisers, where "Pioneers" and "Rangers" bundle lots of maximum contributions from corporate interests.

Dean's supporters will have to average a blistering $23,011.22 per hour, day and night, until the end of the month to reach the $5,000,000 goal.

13. we are doing very well

$5 million is a big goal and as mentioned with what we are averaging on a daily basis heading towards $3 million but my guess is that in the last three days or so there will be a huge explosion. For instance I already donated but when I get paid again this week will send another contribution.

Look at it this way, what Trippi is asking us to donate in the last ten days--$5 million is what I read yesterday in the NOTE what Kerry is expected to raise this entire quarter. Amazing.

I only need 1/25th of that amount to run my entire campaign.

Maybe he can spare 200 grand of it?

"You Gotta Believe" finger pointing and all... doesn't anyone seem a little freaked out by the blatant ploy to emotionalize fundraising. Well more power to him, because it's working well but just seems like something you'd see at a radical church fundraiser and not a politician! :)
