The local news just ran teaser: Daryl Issa says "vote NO on recall" now |
|
Has anyone heard anything about this?
This information was spoken over a clip of Issa giving a speech. Don't know if it was file footage, or what, but the implication was that he said this today at a press conference or while giving a speech or something like that.

4. I refuse to watch broadcast news, but, if I had to guess, it would |
|
be because he wants to run against a weak Davis in the next governor's election, rather than go through a primary battle with a victorious Republican?
Or maybe they know they aren't going to win, so he's setting himself up to not lose face. He bought the recall, so, now, if he says forgetaboutit, he'll look like less of an idiot when the whole thing fails?

no term limits?
I suppose that other point is valid, but I dont see Darrel Issa winning anything on his own anytime soon. Calling for "NO on Recall" now will just make him look incredibly stupid and two-faced.

12. How 'bout, Issa wants to run for open seat agains Dem rather than |
|
in a primary against incumb. Rep. (which he wouldn't even do).

14. I think you're on the right trend |
|
even though Gray Davis can't win again - usually open elections (aka - no incumbants) are excellent opportunites for the other party to win a governor seat.
I think after this while Recall Election process that Darrell Issa won't even be able to get elected Dog Catcher in California!

6. This just shows the recall effort was a power grab all along... |
|
It wasn't about Davis. Of course, WE all knew that, now others will see.

He says to vote no on the recall if there's more than one Republican.

11. Now I get it! Issa doesn't want to be saddled with the loss! |
|
Imagine...all that effort at initiating the recall for a quick win against Davis and the Dems, and then Davis retains, or Bustamante gets in. He'd be persona non gratta among his Repub "friends"

Issa just prefers Davis to Bustamonte. Davis may win this one.
