Clark in Time Magazine week of 9/29
Page 25: "Only a day after his announcement, Clark told reporters on his campaign plane that if he had been in Congress last fall, he peobably would have voted for the resolution authorizing President Bush to use force in Iraq. The next day, according to Time, he reversed course. "I would never have voted for this war. I've gotten a very consistent record on this".

Time goes on to quote an unnamed strategist for another Dem as saying, "If it doesn't get any better than the first 24 hours, he's going to be gone in two weeks". Dean's campaign manager, Joe Trippi, is quoted as well: "The other campaigns make a mistake if they don't take him seriously. It's going to take a month or two to know what to make of him".

What, if anything, should we make of the above?

1. Should "we?" Group think now?
I think we all should think whatever we want to think and not ask anyone else's permission.

2. I may not agree with your choice of candidate
but I agree that we each have to decide which candidate works for us. For me, so far, it isn't Clark, I still like Edwards. But that is my choice and obviously not made based on what the vast majority here think.

3. We haven't had a serious POTUS candidate from the miltary in awhile.
I'd say that the Dems are much in same situation as when the Republicans ran Ike Eisenhour. We need to break the RepuKKKes momentum and to use a football term, maybe it's time for the liberals to run a misdirection play. As liberals, we're known at least half as much for pacifism as being warriors. Historically, liberal have been fighters as well a lovers, think of the Lincoln brigade in the Spanish civil war, Abolutionists in our own civil war and then there are those endless waves of poor people, minorities and immigrants who have died for this nation since day one.
Wesley Clark is the counter play that scores a crucial big touchdown and keeps the repuKKKe attack dog linebackers on their heels. All our other candidates are another Northeast/rustbelt liberal up the middle.
