Kerry's online fundraising drive is doing well. |
|
I realize he's only raised a third as much as Dean's bat (which has still to hit it's first million) and Kerry had a two day head start. All in all, however, Kerry has done well. It's nice to know there is lots of internet support out there for Kerry. Although, the number of people that frequent the candidates sites combined is less than 1% of total voters.

When I was online at One A.M.
Pretty good for under 12 hours.
Shaheen has sent out letters to Kerry supporters last night that were designed to get 2.5 million in the next few days.Looks like she is being effective.

don't agree very often, but I'm thrilled Kerry's online fundraising is going well. This bodes well for all our candidates. OLF is clearly an important emerging tool.

5. This is the truth of the matter |

"Although, the number of people that frequent the candidates sites combined is less than 1% of total voters."
There are many posters here that still assume DU is the pulse of the nation. We do, however, get a flavor or indication of the mindset of candidate supporters.
Our number 1 goal has got to be removing the idiot occupying our HOUSE!

7. No, we do not DU is the pulse of the nation |
|
but neither do we seek to demean DU because of short term political need, either.
Certainly, DU does not reflect the full spectrum of political opinion in America today; but it reflects a far wider opinion and exerts a far wider influence than you are prepared to contenance.
Look at the influence of FreeRepublic had during the 2000 election. As a source of grassroots right-wing propaganda during the coup, it was invaluable for Bush-Cheney.
Democratic Underground is becoming the left's watering hole for grassroots organizing.
