I like her a lot more than I thought. Could SHE be the VP contender?

Her health plan is by far the best because it detaches health insurance from employment.
I thought Kucinich was going to be righht there with her until he said, and the plan is paid for by a 7.7 % tax on employers.
Why in the world should your health insurance be tied to whether you have a job or not? The only reason it is now is because of a quirk during WWII.
Mosely-Braun is absolutely right. Single payer plan, detached from whether you have a job, or don't have a job, or change jobs.
If any Kucinic people read this, please explain what the thinking would be to have employers pay for people's health insurance? Especially for non-working people? What should your healthcare have to do with where you work?

I was lucky enough to be able to vote her into the US Senate WAYYY back in 92 (when I lived in Chi-town). I still have my Mosley-Braun button from that election. I particularly remember that election because I got into a verbal fight with one of her Republican competitors (Hernandez???) about Bush pandering to the religious right. "He does not!" was the only thing she could come up with. She was also the one who told me that Hillary Clinton "preferred the company of women". Typical of the Republicans.

3. She's very impressive.....so is Sharpton....who's "sharp as a tack." |
|
If they weren't "people of color" with some baggage.....wouldn't they be wonderful front runners.....and I love them for being there..and hope they can hang in through another debate.....

5. Sharpton has the guts to actually say OUT LOUD the things that... |
|
... the other contenders are thinking... but afraid to say. Because they KNOW it will hurt them in the long run.
Sharpton... you gotta give it to him... speaks his mind and LAYS IT ON THE LINE!!
Carol... bless her!!! She's got warmth, heart, conviction, purpose, and soul!

I don't know about CMB for veep. The way things are going it's gonna be Dean...maybe Kerry in one slot and Clark in the other.
She'd still be great for the job--maybe she'll have to settle for Health and Human Services or something this time and try again later...

4. BTW! Imagine Mosely-Braun and Sharpton as replacements for Condi/Powell! |
|
Unbelievable isn't it! A bunch of degrees and a General's stars don't quite cut it for real people brains or savy, do they?

such a shame that people in this country would rather hear the same old tune and get the same old effect rather than switch to what is better.
"If you keep doing the same thing you will get the same results" Why not take a chance and go for the change. Everyone has baggage because they are humans so why would Braun and Sharpton be expected to be perfect as if they were from another planet. Is this the standard where Afro-Americans have to jump 2 hoops to white's one hoop?
I'm afraid America's hatred will be her undoing taking her down in history along with other dead world powers.

But I don't think that she can be VP, too much baggage (plus she did lose her last election). I keep hoping that she'll somehow end up on the presidential cabinet (possibly at Health and Human Services, Education, UN Rep, oh anything as long as she's in office somewhere. Our party needs more like her.

10. Baggage? What Baggage? |
|
Other than losing her last election, what else could there be? Drugs, alcohol, debt, extramarital affair, is she a LESBIAN? ;-)
Seriously... nothing could change my opinion of her. I just love her to death! Come here, Carol and let me give you a big hug!!

14. Yes, I like Braun very much, but |
|
don't think she has the right stuff to be Prez. I could see her as VP, and would prefer her over Clark and the other candidates, except Graham, as VP. I'm not a big Graham fan, but he has his moments in the debates when he is on the ball, but don't know how he'd get along with Dean and being that Jeb Bush is Florida's governor, we can't afford to lose a senate seat to another Repuke.
I see Dean as Prez, but Braun's lack of foreign policy experience and the fact that she lost her last election make me doubt that she'd be a good VP candidate at this point. A cabinent postition under a Dean Admin is a very definite possibility.

15. I've had the distinct honor... |
|
... of meeting and getting to know Carol, and she's a lovely, warm and intelligent person. Unfortunately, she has sooooooooooooooo much 'baggage' that just looks bad that she'd hurt our ticket more than she would help it.
She would be a WONDERFUL Sec. of HHS, UN Ambassador, etc. . :)
