Dean practices the politics of division in fundraising letter.
"One week ago, Howard Dean sent each of you an email and asked you to do whatever you could do to make this the September to Remember-- to give whatever amount you could afford to change the way politics is done in our country-- to put an end the politics of the past and the gotcha game of the Washington establishment."

Yes, let's all decry the politics of the "Washington establishment." God help us if we want someone with experience to lead this country.

6. okay, i am a Dean activist and so I am half joking here but...
I wonder if this trolls4dean thing has led to Vermont to assign a staffer to troll their own blog.

Obviously I am joking but i funny thought nonetheless (okay, that was redundant since the definition of a joke is a funny thought, okay I am tired).

21. I don't think so.
This is a grass roots campaign. Even the trolls are volunteers.

8. Gotta Love the Trolls!
The trolls raised another $4,000 for Howard Dean. Way to go!

And, yes, Trolls for Dean will be setting up a new bat. So every time you see a trollicious(*) post here at DU -- or anywhere else in blogspace -- you know what to do.

(*)"Trollicious" describes any attack against Democratic presidential candidate(s) which (a) is ad hominem; (b) is illogical; (c) is poorly sourced; (d) is intemperate; or (e) some or all of the above. Calm, rational questions about policy differences, well-sourced and fact-filled criticism, and balanced comparative comments are all specifically excluded.

By the way, Deaniacs are welcome -- no, encouraged -- to keep the Trolls for Dean campaign going. When you see a troll, remind us all of the goal.

2. Clearly the "Washington establishment" has provided brilliant leadership
Come on, the "Washington establishment" has done NOTHING for the Democratic party or the country in the past three years.

9. So you would pass judgement on those who have stood up
to Bush on everything from his desire to drill in ANWR, to his right wing judicial nominees (Pickering and Estrada were both defeated) to what would have been even larger tax cuts, to the pressure Democratic congressmen and women put on the administration to establish a homeland security department?

This is unfar. So the Dems lost a few seats in the midterms. Well, the Repubs did too in '98 and didn't seem to have any problem winning the presidency 2 years later.

12. BlogForAmerica.com? Maybe...
But we're hijacking DU to elect a Democratic president. ANY Democratic president.

Dean, Hell Yes.
Braun, By All Means.
Kerry, Certainly.
Graham, You Bet.
Kucinich, Of Course.
Sharpton, Amen.
Clark, March On.
Gephardt, We're Workin' Hard.
Edwards, With Steely Resolve.
Lieberman... Well, OK. :-)

So don't you be dissin' any of my Democratic peeps! 'Cause if you do, we're running to Trolls for Dean.

13. yes, i got that email
and chipped in a few extra bucks because I believe it what he stands for. Look where Geppy, Kerry, and the rest of the insider crowd (minus Graham) has gotten us.

Besides, the "Dean as inexperienced" meme has been stale for a while... it didn't go anywhere... try again next time.

14. Where have they gotten us?
Edited on Sun Sep-28-03 02:31 AM by DJcairo
Without Kerry we'd have had a limp investigation of Iran Contra. Without Kerry we'd have drilling in ANWR and acid rain throughout Mass. Without Kerry we'd have families still wondering if loved ones were imprisoned in Vietnam.Gep gaves us Clinton's '93 budget.

You guys sound silly sometimes. It's strange that you don't know your facts. Maybe you'd prefer Dean could abolish Congress and be appointed King.

15. Well, no
we are a little tired of being patronized by Kerrybots.

I have nothing against John Kerry. I support Howard Dean because I believe he has a strong message, policy positions I strongly favor and cajones to go after Bush. I think his campaing infrastructure is more than capable of taking on the might wurlitzer.

Since we need all the dems we have in the Senate....which has been the last bastion of defense against the repugs....but only after they got stomped in 2002...

Edited on Sun Sep-28-03 07:17 AM by Padraig18
We all know you're for Kerry, and virtually every Dean supporter I know will support Kerry if he gets the nomination. What gripes OUR asses is the way you folks can take a statement from Howard that "It's a beautiful sunrise this morning" and turn it into "Dean praises thermonuclear fusion device!". You guys really DO do that, you know... :eyes:

Mercilessly, in fact. He was right then, and Dean is right now. Some Washington-based Democrats have let us down, and Lord knows the Republicans have.

23. Please stop with this
Howard Dean is NOT the enemy. John Kerry is NOT the enemy. Dennis Kucinich is NOT the enemy. Joe Lieberman is NOT the enemy. Wes Clark is NOT the enemy. BUSH IS THE ENEMY! I only listed those 5 names since I see the most attacks on these guys, but these unsubstantiated ad hominem attacks do nothing to elevate the political discourse around here. So, please, give it a rest.

criticism.

Thank God many finally came to their senses and stopped being too afraid to criticize Shrub.
