Clark rally yesterday in Dover, NH |
|
So in case anybody here is interested, I went to a Clark event yesterday in Dover, NH (from what I understand, largely Republican territory). It was good to see supporters from all over the Northeast, some having had to drive a very long way.
Before the event, we held signs and waved at cars that drove by. A good number of cars honked their horns to show their support (a few thumbs down too). Clark came a little before noon and gave a decent stump speech. A Bush guy showed up with a little sign, but was blocked most of the time w/Clark signs. A NH guy complained that he couldn't see Clark speak, so the Clark signs went down, but surprise surprise, the Bush guy refused.
Clark also shook lots of hands, took pictures, autographs, etc. He got into a mini-discussion with a Republican with a cowboy hat (who still thinks there's a link btw Al Qaeda and Iraq...despite Bush's recent statement!) and afterwards I asked him what he thought and he said he'd consider supporting Clark. A reporter from some local newspapers were walking around interviewing people and I told one why I supported Clark.
It was fun, but we still have a ways to go as far as organization goes.
