1. while I think that Edwards may be gaining
Edited on Sun Sep-28-03 11:10 AM by CMT
I think it will be competitive all around. This is a Gep must win state and whoever comes in second will have some bragging rights--or ofcourse if Gep doesn't win in Iowa.

2. No. It's a Gephardt poll
"A Westhill Partners poll for Gephardt showed the Missouri Democrat leading Dean 24 percent to 17 percent with Kerry and Edwards at 17 percent and 13 percent, respectively."

3. ok
I think we will have to see what more independent polls like the Des Moines Register says--candidates polls which are leaked to the press are usually for fund raising. I have no doubt that Gep needs Iowa and I would be perfectly happy if Dean came in a solid second.

4. Trust Gephardt's numbers on Edwards
But you can trust that Gephardt wasn't trying to pump up Edwards: all the polls are showing his steady increases in popularity as more and more people see him.

5. This is teh real shocker...
"The Global Strategy Group poll of 400 voters likely to participate in the Jan. 19 Iowa caucuses conducted Sept. 20-23 also found that support for former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean increased from 12 percent in June to 21 percent in September, and Sen. John Kerry rose from 14 percent to 20 percent."

Looks like Kerry could take Iowa.

6. I'm Not Sure If The Math Works Out There
It seems Dean went up 9 points, and Kerry went up 6 points - and Dean remains ahead. I definitely think Kerry could take Iowa, but not based on the numbers you gave.

7. I'm very happy to see Edwards' hard work start to pay off.
And glad to see Kerry moving up too. A couple of great candidates.
