3. earlier this morning

he was at about $2.5M for the ten day/$5M campaign. The next hourly update had the $15M goal, and I suspect it's because that's his quarterly goal, and not just the 10-day goal. Hey, $2.5M more isn't so bad if you've already got $12.5M!

PLUS, the campaign aparently has thousands of envelopes in their offices that are as-of-yet unopened with donations, simply because they haven't got the man-power to do it. I am guessing they have more than $5M for the final ten days (with mail-in donations), and may break their goal with the house-party donations tomorrow.

Dean's campaign is astounding in the cash it can bring in. I have nothing but praise and amazement for this ability, and I think in the general, his campaign could match Bush dollar for dollar, and if we can match Bush dollar for dollar, then we win!

5. The most amazing stat of all

is that Dean's first million in this recent fundraiser was raised by about 16,000 different people.

(In contrast, at one of his $2000 per plate fundraisers, Bush raises $1M with about 500 people.)

I thought the goal was 5 million and now it says 15 million. Can someone help this confused gent out? :shrug:

9. They 'evolved' again

Since they saw they weren't going to make the $5 million online goal, they just shifted to a different figure. The $15 million will take into account both online and offline money for the whole quarter from grassroots and traditional donations. Thin-skinned, that's what I think.

he had $10 million before the online 10 days fundraiser. He has collected $2.5 million online, and the goal is now $15 million. The goal is STILL $5 million in 10 days... they just changed it to $15 million after adding the previous 10 millions. They didn't shift to a different figure, so please stop making things up.

11. The original $5M was counting both online and offline money too.

And, as has been said, the campaign had roughly $12.5M (including $2.5M from the bat) whan they changed the number from $5M to $15M. Same goal.

bat went up. They're still hoping for five million on top of that. So they still have to bring in the same amount to reach the original goal.
