Stop the unfair practice of 'offshoring' (Charlie Crystle Campaign)
This is a great issue for Democrats to use against the Repugs and will most certainly drive the Freepers nuts ("do I protect my job or 'President' Bush?"). Please take a few minutes and "sign" Charlie Crystle's petition to do something about offshoring US jobs to low-wage lands.

Petition: To The President and Congress of The United States

Whereas the practice of “offshoring” is defined as creating jobs overseas at the expense of US workers, and

Whereas a large number of “American” companies engage in the practice of offshoring in order to lower costs by securing cheap labor abroad, and

Whereas American workers of all skills, education, training, and vocation are threatened with unemployment or underemployment because of the practice of offshoring, and

Whereas the principle of “chasing the cheapest price” benefits the few at the expense of the many, and is the core principle informing the practice of offshoring, and

1. Gotcha!
Yesterday I called AOL billing regarding a bill sent to my long-deceased sister. The woman who responded to my call had an Indian accent and it ocurred to me that this was one of those off-shore billing centers that I had seen on the news. When I asked her where she was located she hesitated and then said Houston so I said "Houston by way of India?" I will say this...her English was perfect but she did not understand obvious American idioms.

2. call MSNBC accounting...
same story. I don't see how we can do business with India on the same basis as we do with England.
