From Dean's blog yesterday - highway sign

This is 20 miles off Salida, which is roughly 3 hours SW of Denver.

I want to go visit there and take a pic of myself pointing at that sign!

This is SO cool!

2. Actually,
the sign is just part of an adopt-a-highway program. Any group can volunteer to clean up a stretch of highway and then put up their sign. Which is what the Deanies did.

5. Just another way Dean is changing the face of politics
Edited on Tue Nov-11-03 01:58 PM by Egnever
Supporters across america are regaining thier sense of comunity during this campaign. Coming together to adopt a section of highway while contributing visibility for the candidate is a great thing to see after so much negativity an insider manuvering.

If Dean doesnt get the nod I will forever be greatfull to him for restoring a real feeling of comunity to at least a portion of America.

6. These are the ways of promoting the campaign...
That people remember...that catch their eye.

All of this style of campaigning (guerilla advertising) will be very very important to use well in the coming campaign against Bush.

One of my favorites this past summer were groups of Dean supporters going to major league baseball games and getting their names on the scoreboard as a visiting group for the day.

7. The other great one was
the Dean supporters who got behind the announcers with big signs on the College Football GameDay show. They were on TV all morning.

8. More free advertising for Dean!
Some people complain that Dean's supporters are fanatical, but I think it's a good thing. Those "fanatical" supporters get Dean's name out there, at no cost to the Dean campaign. 42,000 letters have been written in the past few weeks to Iowans, at almost no cost to the Dean campaign. Deanies are tabling, flyering, etc. again at almost no cost to Dean. Yes, there are supporters in all camps that do that for their candidates, but Deanies seem to be out there in force most of the time. We have an abundance of energy, we want Bush* out of office, and we are willing to sacrifice some of our free time (and let's face it, our money) to help our goal.

I hope to see more of this kind of activity from other campaigns, because these actions truly help us get our democracy, and our country, back from Bush*'s cronies.

9. Are you accusing him of being anti-litter?
Damn that's smart. A couple of those on a metropolitan thruway would be worth their weight in gold.

10. So smart. So very smart.
I hope that our nominee (whoever it is) ends-up with groups doing this all over the country. Everywhere you drive - clean highways with free advertising!
