Katherine Harris "leaning toward" bid for Graham's Senate seat
Will somebody please wake us up when this is over?

<snip>

November 12, 2003

Rep. Katherine Harris (R-Fla.), the former Florida secretary of state who became a household name during the 2000 Florida post-election recount, is likely to run for the Senate seat being vacated by Sen. Bob Graham (D), a GOP official said.

The congresswoman said in a telephone interview from Sarasota, Fla., that she’s mulling her options. Asked if her role in the contested presidential election would help or hinder a Senate race, Harris said she looks forward to telling “the truth about what happened.”

Harris, struggling to regain her voice after a afternoon of Veterans’ Day speeches, also said the country needs to move beyond the recount and focus on terrorism and the economy. “People really seem to be tired of hearing the same kind of ranting,” she said.

6. Florida Re-elected Jeb - So Why Not
Katherine?

Florida was insane enough to re-elect her partner in crime. That was a cake walk, so this should be fairly easy also

7. What a nightmare....
I have seen her interviewed, and she is as dumb as a bag of hammers. I can't believe she could get the senate seat. But then again, look at what is in the oval office.

11. Her candidacy will definitely motivate Democrats in Florida
Should she be running for Senate, expect Florida to be very much in play as all those Gore voters in the last election (the majority in Florida) turn out to vote. Also, we should probably relook at Clay Shaw's district (though it became more Republican in the last election, it still leans Democratic). If there's going to be a huge Democratic turnout, his seat could be a possible pickup.
