Dean makes it official, filing papers in NH By GARRY RAYNO
State House Bureau Chief
CONCORD — Hundreds of supporters of Presidential candidate Howard Dean filled the hallways of the State House and rallied outside yesterday as he became the 17th person to file to run in the New Hampshire Presidential primary.
The Democratic front-runner paid the $1,000 filing fee surrounded by hordes of media that crammed into Secretary of State Bill Gardner’s office.
It was easily the largest crowd any Presidential candidate filing to run has drawn to date. (snip)
He noted the campaign was not about his running for President but about the American people taking back their country.
We want a government that helps 99 percent of the people in this country not the 1 percent that President Bush is intent on advancing. President Bush’s motto is ‘If you’re rich, you deserve it. If you’re poor, you deserve it.’ That’s not something I was brought up to believe about this country and it is not the kind of country we are going to have if you make me President of the United States,” Dean said.(more)
