9. I loved the look of Kerry's site. Very classy and informative. |

All the sites offer tons of information. Carol's looked good. Edwards had a lot packed in it (too much on one page?) Gephardt's looked tired, and I didn't like seeing Dean's name in the first thing I read. Dean's site is packed with info. The long arm reaching out looked very weird to me, but the links for the Union members is a very nice touch. Sharpton looks like he ran out of money. Clark's was fine - I was really struck by the testimonial from the former Kucinich supporter - why I switched to Clark. I think that should become the "meme" of Clark's campaign right now.
I'm going to give Kerry the nod over Dean.

2. In that amount of time you couldn't possibly have gone to all of |
|
the different candidate sites and done some type of comparison.

if we had been to those sites in the past, we already knew what was there, right? :-)
Barring some profound new designs/concepts/etc., I'd say that Dean's is probably the best, but they are all very good sites that provide a good deal of info on the candidates.

5. I happen to know that there are some new concepts and that |
|
some of the sites have changed.
Let's see you'll even use your bias on which candidate has the best site rather than taking an honest look and making an honest vote?
If you get too comfortable with your success you'll lose and not know why. That is what you guys need to learn or your candidate won't win.

So much for a little attempt at humor.
And FWIW, I *have* been to the sites within the last couple of weeks looking for answers to certain questions from a couple of friends of mine who aren't very political. I'd still say that Dean's is best, but that they are all good.

12. Sorry if I over reacted, I hoped this would give all of us an |
|
opportunity to really look at all of the candidates sites and find something positive in all of them instead of just saying my candidate has the best.
I have been thinking about doing this poll for a while. I thought we'd all learn something from the exercise. Oh, well

But I think that Clark is closing in.
His online presence is growing at an astounding pace.

8. So everyone here that Dean has the best web site? |
|
What points exactly make Dean's the best compared to other sites. Give some specifics.
I'll give an example from Gephards site: Gephardt actually has pictures of supporters saying why they support him. The pictures change each time you access the site.

I like the concept, it gives the sites a personal touch. Quite nice!

It's a "which candidate do you like best" poll. What defines "best online presence" for people anyway? Interactive features? Nice graphics set? Content and organization?
I've been to them all briefly and they seem about the same. Some have much more information than others but they're all slick.

Kerry and Clark have arguably more artistic web sites than Dean's.
So what?
How many of you use Google? Isn't that a "lame" web design? Looks like a fifth grader did it. Yahoo! is kind of similar -- very minimalist. Little (if any) Javascript or Flash. Just some bog standard HTML with table tags.
Dean has the Google (and Yahoo!) of political web sites. It's really minimalist design, and only semi-professional, but it's the content that counts. It has the best community going. And it looks grassroots-y, just as it should. It doesn't look like an overly polished and packaged offering.
