Walt Brown for President:)
i can't bring myself to vote SP-USA this year (i am registered)...but eventually this country is going to have to embrace democratic-socialism...the difference between it and the most liberal democrats is very small

so, I just thought it pertinent enough to post about...and wondered what your thoughts on Democratic-Socialism were?

1. I Disagree w/ Democratic Socialism
I don't believe that socialism can be acheived electorally. Capitalism can't be reformed away.

However, I will give my critical support to any democratic socialist candidate.

3. i agree somewhat
i do believe it can be achieved to the extent of health care, education, and jobs program...the state can ensure these things and still allow business enough room to be viable

the main reason i am voting for Kucinich is because he brings these traditional ideas of equality to his platform

2. I'm a Socialist that'll be voting Dem "Big Time".
Actually I'm a SP-USA member too that just can't handle another Bush term.

That said I believe that Democratic Socialism will be the dominant force that emerges from the Bushista mess.

...and then the Corpos will likely destroy us again through Media, and Money, control.

What to do, what to do...

NC sucks with what party one can register with. Apparently the libertarians are a "larger group" than the Greens, though Ralph Nader beat the pants off of Jackson Browne 2 years ago.

But you can damn well be sure I'll be voting Democratic in the US.

By the way, as long as we're promoting a multi-party US of A.

There's also the Democratic Socialists of America

And the Social Democrats USA

44. yes
i said the nation will have to embrace the ideals of democratic-socialism...when three of the 9 candidates are running on a Progressive (IE: Democratic-Socialist) platform, i thought it very relevant...the title was tongue in cheek, i thought the smily mdae it obvious, and I mentioned my support for Dennis in nearly every post i make on this forum (albeit not many posts)

i got the impression you were trying to start a fight and i reacted in kind

i can say one thing...I don't come to this message board to argue and fight with who i feel for the most part, are like minded people

I'm trying to point out that this board is not to be used to support other party's candidates, even if you may have *meant* the subject to be tongue-in-cheek. A smiley doesn't do that.

You're too new to know this, but we VOTED on them, they were accepted by the membership, and it is important that you follow them if you want to stay.

I don't recall that. I recall Skinner posting draft rules at least on one occasion asking members for suggestions.

After all, this is his site. Not a democracy.

But I suppose this is all bridge under the water anyway. Goodness, what a lot of flames and moderator time spent to no purpose!

They passed 2-1. Can't believe youmissed the great election of 2003!
