2. Kerry Still A Close Third
Things have a funny way of playing out. If Gephardt AND Kerry top Dean, Kerry is going to have a crapload of momentum going into New Hampshire. Just the kind of jolt that would be perfect.

4. a big "if"

yeah, "if" the world turned upside down tomorrow, Kerry would be on top, and that'd be mighty interesting, all right. but "if" things keep going the way they have, "if" Kerry keeps drifting... a far more likely scenario... Kerry's toast.

6. There is good news for Kerry in this poll
If he can beat Gep in Iowa, then I would agree that it would give him a boost. A strong 3rd won't help him that much.

Kerry gained 4 points in this poll.

7. That's great.....
is all I have to say about it. The last I heard, Gephardt was ahead by seven points.

I'll have to tell you, I think the letter writing campaign we've been doing in Meetup has some effect on the results. We'll likely be writing more to our Iowa friends on December 3rd.

Besides, Dean just sells himself, he has a kind of energy, and you really get the feeling from him that he feels he can make a positive difference in our lives.

I wouldn't compare him with Kennedy, but he has a kind of similar vein in that he really does think he can make a difference. It is a palpable sensation you get from him, that no other popular candidate emanates.

8. Don't insult the dead. Kennedy never looked out of control.
Didn't have to apologize every 3 weeks, for one misstatement or the other.

16. That is what I thought!
When that last poll came out I was like no way, the # of Dean people at the JJ dinner alone made me think that poll was trash.

President Dean has a good ring to it. Ever notice that Presidents' names are almost always easy to pronounce?

17. It looks like the candidate with the best news here....
is Kerry. With his campaign having so many problems lately, I am really surprised he is so close to Gephardt.

18. say what?
I'll admit that Kerry's showing in the poll IS impressive, and it wouldn't be entirely out of the realm of possibilty that he could overtake Gephardt.. but the best news here is Dean's -- he's gone from 7 down in one poll to UP 10 in this one. If the next round of Iowa polls (all post-union endorsement) come out showing Dean up 8-12 points, that will be beyond huge. if Dean wins Iowa, he'll steamroll Kerry in NH (he's already doing that now, anyway), and waltz to the nomination.

The Union endorsements, the Iowa JJ dinner demonstration of People-powered Howard, and our letter writing are turning the tide in Iowa.

Yeah!

25. the poll to watch will be the Des Moines Register poll
which sould come out early in Dec. It had Gep up by seven - if it also shows a turnaround, then this poll might mean something.

In a final round- after eliminating all but the top 4 in the first round, the numbers are as you've posted.
