Michael Moore's next documentary is... |
|
entitled "Sicko" for a 2005 estimated release date.
I have posted this previously in someone's thread, but I thought I should spread the good word to all. One of the news hounds asked him what his next project is going to entail and he did everything not to answer. I found out by going through the Hollywood Actor/Director pages which list projects in production.
Here is a description... "Plot Outline: This film will focus on the American health care system, and will look at it through an inspection of the system of mental health care."
Way to go MM!!!

4. I would imagine Ronald Reagan will be thrown in first... |
|
since he shut down all the hospitals for the mentally ill. That will be a bonus.

3. No doubt we'll have comparisons ... |
|
... to the subsidized health care system of Canada.
I hope they make it clear that we DO have waiting lists in the US for treatment. Our waiting lists are prioritized by your ability to pay. And as MM has shown, sometimes there is a threshold at which point you simply won't get treatment AT ALL!!!!!

7. On his old TV show "The Awful Truth" |
|
He took on Humana because they denied some patient with FULL COVERAGE a pancreas transplant...he just nailed them until they finally relented...
"Sicko" should do for HMO's what F911 has done for chimpy & friends...

11. I remember that................. |
|
during his persistant attempts to get an appointment with the CEO he kept pointing out that CEO of Humana was awarded a huge bonus of just under 30 million dollars, which was enough to pay for x number of dozens of pancreas transplants.
MM made Humana look like greedy, heartless b*stards.

Depending what Mike gets really good footage of.:)
"Fahrenheit 9/11" changed a lot as it was filmed. Originally, Mike got the money before the invasion of Iraq to make a film about the Bushes and the Bin Ladins, the hidden background of 9/11. Some of that stuff did get into the first half of the movie, but covering the Iraq war changed the point. Mike ended up saying something profound about the whole so-called "War Against Terrorism", including the occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq, bogus terrorism warnings and so on. He Quoted right out of George Orwell's 1984!
"It's not a matter of whether the war is not real, or if it is, Victory is not possible. The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous. Hierarchical society is only possible on the basis of poverty and ignorance. This new version is the past and no different past can ever have existed. In principle the war effort is always planned to keep society on the brink of starvation. The war is waged by the ruling group against its own subjects and its object is not the victory over either Eurasia or East Asia but to keep the very structure of society intact." --George Orwell
