I ran across this map over on the I/P forum of the Wall that Israel is building. (It's from the Israel peace organization Gush-Shalom
http://www.gush-shalom.org ) I just don't understand why the U.S. media won't show the map of this wall. It seems to me that if they would inform Americans about this wall and where it is being built that there might be some change in U.S. policy on Israel. I mean I've seen video of small parts of the wall on the U.S. mass media, but it puts it in an entirely different perspective to see a map of the wall like this. Why won't the U.S. media show this?
I remember that the prior map from Camp David was pretty similar with 4 non-contiguous and completed surrounded areas supposedly being set aside for the Palestinians. But, no mass media outlet ever showed that one either.
What's everyone theory as to why this won't be shown in the U.S. on the network and cable news? It would seem to me to have a big impact on Americans and U.S. policy towards Israel and this wall.
I noticed in another article that Bush supposedly did not even know this and was shocked to see the map of the wall and the "State" being left for the Palestinians. Bush supposedly went to Cheney and asked him "where's the Palestinian state"? that article is here that states what Bush supposedly said when the Palestinian appointed Prime Minister showed Bush the map on his recent visit:
>>>Yasser Arafat told me this week that Abu-Mazen, on his recent visit to the United States, showed President Bush a map of the Wall. Bush was shocked. He shook the map before the Vice President, Dick Cheney, and cried: "What's this? Where is the Palestinian State?"<<<
http://www.counterpunch.org/avnery09032003.htmlIf Bush didn't even know the extent of this wall and was so shocked about it, ... how are normal Americans suppose to be informed about U.S. policy on this issue if none of the media will show it?
