Were the debates a massive indictment of the media. |
|
Many people were shocked! Shocked! To discover that Kerry is an intelligent man, and Bush is at best a mediocrity. After over two years of campaigning! Some of the talking heads seemed equally surprised. Incredibly the media has blamed Kerry for "not getting his message across". As if he controlled the medium. If the media discussed political issues instead of political ads this debate would have surprised no one.

1. I think so. People saw Bush outside of his bubble and he showed |

his true ineptness. I certainly hope two more thrashings will open everyone's eyes. Here's to hope!

But, I could not even give shrub a "mediocre". He was embarrassing. He was disrespectful to the entire American public and the political process. He showed everyone exactly who he really is. The mask is off.

3. Exactly! Kerry and Bush both showed up for the debate. |

Instead of the distorted media images we get every day.

Even if it were possible for shrub to win the rest of the debates, I don't think that his expressions and attitude will ever be erased from the publics collective mind. When future generations refer to the "self proclaimed war president", it will be the clips of the debate that will be referenced to convey who he was. And all will laugh. This is his place in history.

I thought I was the only one. When the debate was over, I thought that Bush did better than I expected him to do -- it would definitely have been plain foolish to expect Bush to do better than he did, if you've watched him during the last 4 years. Yes, of course Kerry obliterated him -- which was, again, no shock if you've been paying attention.
I actually thought that they were going to spin it into a Bush victory, since -- I thought -- Bush definitely met expectations, and they already had the spin ready.
Then I was shocked to find everybody shocked.

truth teller! He spoke with conviction and a touch of righteous indignation. Where was that wimpy, wishy washy guy depicted in countless reports? Oh, I know, he was over there on the right...about ten feet away.

6. Spin: People want to have a beer with little bush.... |
|
If they want to have a beer with little bush, kkkristians should not vote for bush. He's a born again kkristian and doesn't drink. What is little bush doing having a beer with sinners?
That's a real phony spin.

Tonight's debate after-discussion really pointed out to me just how much the media is WORTHLESS for providing information. All they provide are a bunch of spun opinions. Americans think spun opinions are fact. Where's the media's responsibility? Where are the ethics in journalism? Where is the journalism?
