The Shame of California Talk Radio
Or why the fairness doctrine needs to be brought back:

I knew "John and Ken" sounded familiar. These were the same clowns who stirred up the revolt against Jim Florio in New Jersey in 1990. That was two years after the Fairness Doctrine was repealed by the Reagan administration.

1. How is California radio different than the rest of the 49 states?

2. Rush is peeing in his pants
using his fag/liberal/whiny voice trying to mimick what he thinks a liberal sounds like(if he would actually TALK to one he might know what truth really sounds like)complaining that the fairness doctrine needs to come back."It's not fair,it's not fay-yer"what a dickwad he is.Randi Rhodes beats him in his own hometown down here in Palm Beach county and he knows it.He listens in every day on local WJNO

4. Fairness
Just a question. Randi Rhodes is on the Radio and is beating Rush in the ratings. There is no fairness doctrine in place. If Randi can do it in Palm Beach, why can't the program succeed everywhere?

I believe that there is a place and market for progressive radio, but I do not believe that re-instituting the fairness doctrine is the way to get the prgramming on the air.

Put a good product and program out there and people will listen. People listeing generates income to stations. Income increases the number of stations thay buy the show. Eventually, programing is nation wide.

5. Must fit the corporate ideology
In order to get a nationwide network, you have to adhere to the ideology of the network owners, like Clear Channel. Without a fairness doctrine, those network owners can exclude viewpoints that they don't agree with.

6. Could Be Worse
I drove through Indy a few times lately and heard Limpwad on no less that 6 AM stations. Clear Channel must "own" that part of the country.
