Al Franken Talk Show
Just finished listening to an interview with Al on our local NPR station (WNYC.org) and he was asked if there's any truth to the rumor he will have a talk show. He replied yes and that when it happens it will be on the new liberal network which is happening. :)

1. Happiness is..
:) Could it be true? A place where we could hear Franken and watch Democracy Now! and Michael Moore movies maybe? Can't you imagine Howard Zinn perhaps doing some commentary? Where Greg Palast would be welcomed? A few programs from Worldlink?

Wait. Who's going to carry this? It's impossible, isn't it? Or it will require satellite, won't it?

Ah well, we can dream.

5. FSTV is on Dish . . .
(Free Speech TV)

I get it on my new Dish network (channel
9415 on the satellite system)

There's also a cool station called Link Network. Both have good content on them.

2. I really hope so!

If we can't do something about the media we are toast.

I heard there were about 1000 people at the suburban mall
in North Austin on Saturday. He was talking about it there
as well from what I was told.

3. I was there
The crowd was huge! And yes, he talked about the radio show. Said he'd be on three hours every day. He got big laughs and much applause.

I have my fingers crossed!

4. Wahoooo!
I so hope it's national.

BTW, my officemate listens to Savage occasionally. As an African American woman, she disliked his racism but thought that he was probably right about other things. We sat and listened to a broadcast one day and analyzed how he misled and browbeat people. The clincher was when he mentioned "white guilt" in a program that had nothing to do with race.

She's ready to be convinced, and Al Franken on the radio at work would do it.

I'm working my ass off to get her vote for a Democrat in 2004. Frankly, I think Bush has already managed that on his own, but reinforcements would help.
