Jon Stewart Was Right!
Edited on Sun Oct-24-04 06:15 PM by Morgana
I don't know how many of you watched Jon Stewart on Crossfire, and I don't know how many of you really listened.

His criticism of that program felt like a breath of fresh air to this one, paltry American who happens to belong to no political party.

All of the people on Crossfire strike me as being political hacks -- some more than others.

I've been watching the show for quite a few years. No conclusion is ever developed. Much of the conversation strikes some of us as being prearranged.

It just doesn't help! The topics will always end up seeming to be equal in terms of the conclusion. "Tit for tat."

Jon Stewart was right.

Why doesn't Crossfire present REAL debate concerning REAL issues?

Perhaps it's because CNN is now part of yet another conglomerate whose focus is on capital gains.

2. Wow!
I found someone who agrees?

I'm happily surprised.

3. I agree.
Many will tell you that our political hacks are superior to their political hacks but I find the difference negligible.

Jon Stewart is a reluctant hero to liberal independents everywhere.

4. I stopped watching that show years ago, for the same reasons...
it isn't about a debate anymore, as much as it is about entertaining zingers and one-liners. Everyone on that show is a hack...EVERYONE!

And to make it more "sassy", they added a live studio audience for the hosts to pander to.

The entire show sucks, just like CNN.

5. Jon Stewart Comment
I strongly dis-agree with Jon Stewart making innuendos that Bill Clinton is trying to stay neutral and Hope Kerry Loses so that his wife Hillary can run for Pres in 2008. This week is not the time to make gestures or notions that especially from a comical News show like the Daily Show.

6. I had a different reaction
because of the Clinton cottage industry that the right has. The conservatives were pushing Hilary was president for some time. There are some who appear to have their whole careers riding on the Clintons. I think Stewart was throwing them a bone.

Reality, for me, is that Hil can't run for president as long as we are at war/conflict.
