A newspaper reporter who is also a minister allegedly fondled a woman after he hypnotized her during a counseling session, police said.
The Rev. Charles N. Brown, 33, a pastor at Potter's House church in Braddock and a reporter for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, counseled the woman in her Monroeville apartment, the woman told police. He began using hypnosis during the sessions in May, according to an affidavit filed by Monroeville police.
She suspected that Brown was touching her inappropriately, so she set up a video camera in June to record the counseling sessions, the affidavit said. The video recorded Brown kissing and fondling her while she was hypnotized, the court document said.
Brown was suspended
with pay from his Tribune-Review job pending further review of the allegations. Brown was in the Allegheny County Jail this morning.
