Did anyone else hear Al Franken thrash Ann Coulter on KMOX today???

It was GREAT!!!!!!!!
Al was being interviewed by Charle Brennan about his new book. Ann happened to be calling in an interview for a different show. Charles invited her on to be a part of the discussion. She accepted and was called out about her lies by AL. She gave the standard denial and evade kind of stuff. I dont think Charles is a big fan. He let Al rip her up. She finally gave up and started whining about her schedule. I am going to look for a transpcript after work and will post the same if I can.

BTW KMOX is a St Louis channel. Charles's show leads into Limpballs 3 hours of lies. CYA :smoke:

My 12-year-old daughter got a gander of the Coulter-geist last weekend at the bookstore. She made a horrible face and expressed disgust at her emaciated photo. Then, she noticed it looks like there is a LOT of airbrushing on the front of her latest screed. Sort of an attempt to make her look human, I guess.

The thing about her is, she's totally transparent. Anyone who merely scratches the surface sees immediately that she's completely full of shit. Not only is she insane, she's a hypocrite. She claims that liberals are all elitists, while she lives in Manhattan then Miami, dines out constantly, has a designer wardrobe...no evidence of family values, unless you count dating a Guccione as a family value...

Ann is so pathetic, I love hearing her get confronted. She is so used to getting fawned over by conservative numnuts that she really can't handle someone that can give it back.


That being said, I was disappointed in Al when he accused her of lying about Evan Thomas being the son of Norman Thomas, a 6 time socialist candidate for the presidency. Evan Thomas is the Washington bureau chief for the New Yor Times. Al makes a big point about this in his book Lies and the Lying Liars who tell them.

Al's complaint was that Ann was using this family relationship as proof of the left leaning ways of the NY Times.

Although Evan Thomas is not the son of Norman Thomas, he IS the grandson, and Ann called Al out on that. Al's response was that he put that fact in an endnote.

Al, I love your book. But that endnote excuse is bullshit. The point you were making in the book was that Ann was totally out to lunch for making the connection, and is obviously a liar. She is that, but your misrepresented her stupidity on this point, making it seem outrageous when really she made a much smaller mistake than you portray. And your hiding the fact that Evan is the grandson is dishonest on your part.

Please don't do that, the numbnuts on the right make plenty of stupid comments that we should not give them ammunition for counter argument by misrepresenting their statements.

was to demonstrate how Anthrax Annie regularly disguised facts that contradicted her viewpoints by stuffing them in endnotes (when she bothered to include them at all).

It's actually a very funny bit in Franken's very funny book, and very illustrative as well.

Al makes a big deal about how he decided to find out if Evan was the son of Norman, and how Evan even said, "Oh, that Ann Coulter thing, yeah I know, but I am Evan Thomas Jr". The main point of Al's discussion of this event was that Ann makes this absurd claim that the NY Times is a leftest paper because they have people like Evan on staff who are obviously leftist based on their lineage, when lo and behold, Evan is not who she says he is.

Al doesn't say "let me show you how to lie like Ann", he says "She is a pathetic liar that does not even bother to check the facts on these bold assertions that she makes, and look how easy it was for me to check this fact out".

Even though Evan is the grandson of Norman, that does not make Ann's point, but Al hides this fact.

...and every single caller attacked her,it was great.

The best part was the final caller. I had given Bartcop a heads-up and he promised a Lamborghini to anyone who would ask her why her self-esteem was so low that she would go down on a plastic clown. So this caller, a guy from West Virgina, actually got as far as "....perform fellatio ..." before he got cut off. And Anne didn't hear it, she was trying to talk over him.

Funniest thing ever heard on WPR. Unfortunately, she hasn't come back...
