Any time some Santorumhole tries to tell you the latest "vanilla ice cream" they swallowed coming out of Rush Limbaugh's anal orifice,
DEMAND PROOF!
Tell them that you will not accept any of their shi_ until you see it in a print media in two sources.
They have to back up their allegations. Any time that they try to say "oh, you're just denying reality" DEMAND PROOF!
The bushistas get away with blatant lies, especially the one about "I never said that I wasn't concerned about him (OBL)" that was drowned out by the non-issue of the non-outing of Mary Cheney.
I got the email from my brother about how "Kerry was claiming that he witnessed US soldiers killing babies and women and children in Vietnam". He didn't have anything to back it up other than some Right-wing e-mail list. I sent him the copy of the testimony back saying "READ THE DAMN THING YOURSELF."
"Kerry wanted to take away your guns." Where's the proof?
"Democrats want to outlaw the bible." Where's the proof?
"Terrorists support Kerry." Where's the proof? (Does your "informant" speak fluently in English, let alone in another language?)
Demand proof. That stops them in their tracks. Don't accept editorial columns. Even from the left. Only accept the actual articles. Don't accept "unnamed sources" (they aren't accepting unnamed sources that push your side of the argument, are they?)
Proof requires time and effort on their part, and they might just learn that their sources are DEAD WRONG.
So, any time some jihadhead tries to tell you some piece of crap, demand that they prove it. Period.

1. The facts mean nothing to a religious zealot. |
|
Like George Carlin said, "If you can convince people that there's an invisible pixie looking over their shoulder 24/7, you can convince them of anything." (I'm paraphrasing)

2. If they really want to be confused about the bible |
|
maybe they should read it instead of having a Sunday Morning Rush Limbaugh telling them what it "really says".

3. Plus, remind them that there's a commandment down there that they are |
|
breaking (one that was brought up against Kerry, but not against the Swift Boat Liars for some odd reason):
"Thou shalt not bear false witness" - In other words - don't lie about someone, you must have proof. Tell them they are sinning right then and there if they repeat it without proof. Make them swear to God in front of you that what they are saying is true. Add in the one that Howard Stern loves to use; make them swear not only to God but on the life of their children that it's true.
