Seventh, my company is engaged in a major financing part of which will spin off what we have been generically calling The American Truth Network. It is an antidote to CNN, FOXNews, etc but it will not be of the ilk of Air America radio. The message will be centrist, nothing but the truth that DC does not want America to hear, and will be initially funded with over $100 million. It will make it or fail due to Americans either wanting the truth or not.

6. Neutral vs. Centrist

It is evident from Mr. Schwarz's statement that he wants to escape from the cyclical trap of right vs. left, and create a network which deals more with the factual than the political.

Such a statement may be considered centrist; and, unfortunately, for many of my fellow Democrats, rational, non-partisan discussion of matters which should not be politicized gets mixed up with political centrism, which is considered a concession to the inanities of the right-wing. I'm arguing that there exists a distinction between those two concepts; and a much larger possibility exists that, as the American political discourse broadens, many will find that the Republican and Democratic parties do not represent their interests as accurately as others might.

I enjoy much of the programming on Air America, but one must recognize entertainment broadcasting when one encounters it. Janeane Garofalo and Al Franken may be somewhat engaging as hosts, but their depth of insight tends to meander along the surface of the what is considered appropriate mainstream liberal thought (e.g. The Nation). If any individual takes it upon him/her self to found a station dedicated to analyzing and embracing a spectrum of viewpoints - not just the "shit-stirring" of the right or left - I'd openly embrace it, just as I openly embrace the Pacifica networks.
