origin of "the internets"
I know we all chuckled when we heard that misuse by *, but it turns out it is a financial term.

The market wrap-up today on MSNBC included a reporter commenting that, on the NASDAQ, "the internets, suppliers and services all moved down on the news"; the board behind her showed statuses for network hardware suppliers, IT consulting companies and ISPs.

Seems like there may be some degenerate word 'internets' that refers to internet companies, rather than the internet itself. (Not that I'm against neologisms, but this one sucks, imho.)

1. You give him FAR to much credit
The only "financial" term Bush really knows is "eightball."

The rest he has written for him.

And he can't read very well, either.

2. I'll bet he also knows the term "allowance,"
since he's surely still getting one.

3. You understood.
It should read: "the Internet's suppliers and services all moved down on the news"

4. Could be
I only had one ear on the broadcast and my transcript could easily be read that way. Rats, I thought I'd actually heard something.
