This is probably a dumb question, but I recently saw him parodied in a cartoon with Hannity, Rush, O'Lielly and other right-wing radio assholes. I have only listened to him a couple times and he wasn't talking politics. I know he has a wide audience. What's his deal?

I have only listened to him a couple times--like for a total of 5 minutes. He's not even on the air in my area.
Thanks for the informative response, mhr.

6. Yes, he's a right-winger |
|
Like Chimpy, Imus couldn't handle drugs and alchohol. This, of course, leads him to believe that others are as weak-minded as himself.
Also, like Chimpy, Imus does not have enough talent to make it on his own, so he sucks at the reich-wing teat like the rest of the media whores.

He has a lot of right wingers on his show, but also a fair number of Dems and liberals. He likes Joe Lieberman and Joe Biden. Frank Rich of the NYT and Jonathan Alter of Newsweek are frequent guests as are Doris Kearns Goodwin and Bill Maher.
In sum, Imus is not a Fox-like hack.

8. Ex-Listener/Viewer...Imus is a Repugnican |
|
He proudly claimed he was one of the few registered Repugnicans in lower Manhattan.
Pre 9/11 I would watch the guy...and he'd always claim that his non-stop Clinton bashing was for "entertainment", just like Leno, Miller and even Letterman, were doing at the time. One of the guys of produces bits for Imus, Larry Kenny, used to write for the National Lampoon Radio Hour in the Nixon/Watergate days so I gave the guy some slack.
That all ended once Bushyboy came on the scene. Imus has been a non-stop shill and his "supporting staff" is even worse. Most notorious is his producer, Bernie McGirk, who is a racist and biggot to boot.
Imus is "a legend"...one of those disk jockeys from the 70's who still survives today. He's been on the air in New York forever and has kept his large and loyal following...mostly old white guys waiting around for Rush to come on.
Being a radio-type, I liked watching the behind the scene things that would go on and the rapport between Imus and his newsman, Charles McCord, but now it's Washington Journal every morning. I get more chuckles from the moron Pro-Monkeyboy callers.

10. I used to listen occasionally to him... |
|
years ago, when he was funny. Or at least had funny routines. I peed my pants one time when they talked about Clinton being the first President to be blown out of office.
I suspect he's running on his last dozen brain cells by now-- must be delayed reaction, and he shoulda hit rehab a lot earlier.
Only started catching him on MSNBC in the AM a few weeks ago, just accidentally if I didn't get to the remote fast enough when the hot babes reading the news were through.
Seeing him in the cowboy hat every day hunched down and mumbling to his ass-kissing crew was kinda sickening.
Can't really say about his politics, except they seem to lean rightward. I don't think he knows his politics any more.
