Want REAL news? Free Speech TV and Link TV
These two networks are available with a satellite dish. I got my dish a few months ago, free dish, free installation, less $$ per month than cable WITH digital included.

I watch these two networks religiously. There are just fantastic. They are OUR MSM!

There are a number of news shows, Democracy Now, Mosaic, INN World Report, Journal, etc.

Some of from America like Democracy Now. Journal is based in Germany. Mosaic is Middle East and world news. INN World Report, I'm not sure where it's based, but it's brought to you by "Radio Free America." (Today they interviewed Cliff Arnebeck and showed Boxer and Kerry saying why they won't support Rice.)

Besides these news shows which are mostly unbiased, if not a little left-leaning, they have other shows that the corporate media doesn't want you to see.
For instance:

Point of Attack

This film chronicles the post-911 racial profiling, large-scale round-ups, detentions, and mass deportations of Arab, Muslim, and South Asian men as part of the government's "War on Terrorism." The film frames the plight of these immigrant communities within the broader context of the US government's "other war" against civil liberties that is being waged via the USA Patriot Act.

Watched this today on Link TV. It was stunning to see this is happening in our country. So many Muslim people were rounded up after 9/11 and put in prisons. They showed lines of cars waiting to get into Canada, people fleeing the persecution.

War Spin

Saving Private Jessica: Fact or fiction? This film challenges the Pentagon's version of a story that boosted American morale during the Iraq War. Doctors reveal how Iraqi forces had left the hospital well before American special forces arrived with their Black Hawks and video crew.

Also explored are the roots of the controversial tactic of embedding cameras and reporters with military units and the impact of Hollywood blockbusters like Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down on the war coverage.

Strong at the Broken Places

This sobering film focuses on the human cost of the war in Iraq as expressed in the words and faces of the soldiers and their families. Max Cleland, a decorated, triple amputee from Vietnam who has made the cause of veterans his mission, brings each story to life. The result is both poignant and powerful. As with Cleland's own journey from Vietnam to Iraq, the stories of the soldiers and their families show that suffering in war can transform its victims into advocates for justice and healing - and even for the hijacked truth about 9/11.

The aim of this film is to not only awaken the consciousness of individual Americans, but to galvanize a national debate about, what Cleland calls, the "ground truth" of war itself. Max Cleland is the former director of the Veterans Administration and United States Senator from Georgia. He served as Captain in the First Cavalry in Vietnam.

Shocking and Awful: Resistance at Home
Millions of Americans have said "NO!" to the invasion and occupation of Iraq, and the larger Bush agenda of clampdowns on free speech, increased spying on citizens and the elimination of civil liberties.

Shocking and Awful: Channels of War: the Media is the Military
The mainstream television networks have fanned the flames of war, and have profited from doing so. This program looks at how the corporate media has sanitized American's field of vision.

Since the corporate media turned its back on telling the truth to the American people, I am happy to support two networks who are not beholden to corporations. These networks are available only on Dish Network. Direct TV has Link TV, but not Free Speech. Please consider trading in your cable for a dish if you value FREE MEDIA. Dishes have all your standard cable channels and usually your local channels, so you won't "lose" anything, but you will gain two powerful networks that give you REAL NEWS from the world and a lot of special programs that corporate media won't show you.

Disclaimer: I work for neither of these networks and have no connection with them in any way monetarily. I just want to urge folks to consider a switch. These networks have changed my life for the better.

2. Unfortunately, my apartment building doesn't allow
satellite TV. :-(

As far as I know, these stations are not available on cable. I wish they were, though.

3. Link TV is amazing
I've watched a few things on there including a great special on the fight for Gay rights in Zimbabwe...

I doubt it would ever be shown in the MSM.... It was too intelligent and Gay positive...
