The Target ads in this week's New Yorker |
|
I haven't posted for awhile, so this return post seems trivial compared to the real problems in this country and world, but is anyone else bothered by the countless Target ads, albeit illustrated by famous and almost famous in this week's New Yorker (Aug. 22). This goes beyond the usual but shortlived annoyance of shaking out all the blow in subscription cards.
Wonder what Kinky thinks?

1. I really wasn't bothered |
|
It made me laugh - and then I read an article that blasted the New Yorker for doing it in the way they did.
I like Target's TV ads - and I like Target compared to WalFart - was surprised they went "high brow" for their advertising.
Maybe Target really did hornswoggle the New Yorker - but I bet the New Yorker artists were already impressed with Target's media campaign and hopped on board very willingly - stylish and smart.

2. I'm not sure there are many differences betweenTarget and Walmart |
|
Are those of us who boycott Walmart naive in buying at Target? Are they the same big box, sweatshop buying, minimum wage, no benefits companies, with different public perception?
I don't care how they dress up a hog...it's still pork.
