There's a great new podcast player software out -- Ziepod
For all you podcast fans -- and those who haven't wanted to bother with podcasting yet,I just found a great program called Ziepod.

It's much less bloated than iTunes, and easier to use than most otehr podcatching software. It's also free.

It also has a huge advantage, because you can either download to programs or listen to them instantly fromk within the program.

It's also fast and simple, and (so far anyway) free from crashing or indigestion. If you're already a podcast listener, it'll make it a lot more convenient. If you've been puzzled by it, this is an easy way to get into it.

If you're interested in checking it out, the wensite is http://www.ziepod.com

1. Interesting
I like the whole idea behind podcasting, though I haven't gotten into it just yet.

2. This one should tempt you
It's actually quite easy once you get the hang of it.

3. It sounds like you might know, so I'd like to ask you a few simple...
...Podcast questions.

1) Do the "mini," $100.00 IPods work with Podcasts? (the "Ipod Shuffle" I think they are called)

2) Does this or do you know of any Podcast software that works with other Portable music players? Like the Sony Network Walkman or the Sony (1 GB) Hi-MD Walkman?

4. Podcast software is one step

Most podcasts are mp3 files, which any portable player can play. If you're thinking of buying a player, you can assume that almost any brand of portable player can play most podcasts you might be downloading.

The proprietary part is only with files in Apple's own format.

With most podcasts, you can download a show to your computer as an mp3 file, and then load it from your computer into a portable player. When you do that with an Mp3 file it doesn't matter what brand of player you use.

It's also possible with many brands to download files directly from the podcaster's website into your player. I have a San Disc player, and I can use the podcast software to load it directly into the player. But it's not necessary.
