Seattle DU'ers: I need a "I hate Dori Monson" thread fix!

(Non Seattleites - Dori Monson is one of those local "Middle of the Road" talk show hosts who "mysteriously" seems to consistently support Bush and denigrate Democrats though he says he's neither a Republican or a Democrat. He always brings back the old canard that he was against the Clinton impeachment to show how impartial he is)

1. He drives me nuts

He always talks about growing up poor in Ballard, when in fact he is from a very nice part of North Beach. I went to school with his younger sister. He's a fool - give me Dave Ross over Dori any day! :grr:

2. He's no Dave Ross

Does Dori always talk in what I consider that goofy manner or is that just his "radio" voice.

The thing that pisses me off is that unless KUOW has something interesting on, between Noon and 7 there is absolutely no Moderate to liberal talk radio in Seattle unless you go to the internet and that isn't always practical. And this is Seatte for freaking sake!

If you haven't caught him, I've really come to enjoy Fred Ebert (The Professor).

3. I don't even like Dave Ross sometimes

though he's been okay lately. He (Ross) flat out admitted the other day that he had not believed Scott Ritter when he interviewed him last year.

I cannot stand Dori Monson and he's always been that way. He used to do sports updates at the Kingdome - they'd show it on the big screen, and he used that exact same obnoxious voice. I can't listen to him for more than a couple of seconds. I've caught Lou Pate (I call him Lou Hate) a few times in the last few months being totally racist, also, even though he'll lull me into thinking he's not rabidly rightwing once in a blue moon.

And I sent in "Lou Pate: KVI Warm up man" and I swear the mike went quiet the moment he read it.

But anyone who does 1 AM to 5 AM talk radio can't be doing that well anyway.
