Peculiar Bush News Conference Makes it into Snopes
"President Bush's remarks to reporters at a New Mexico restaurant"

http://www.snopes.com/politics/bush/ribs.asp

11:25 A.M. MST

THE PRESIDENT: I need some ribs.

Q Mr. President, how are you?

THE PRESIDENT: I'm hungry and I'm going to order some ribs.

Q What would you like?

THE PRESIDENT: Whatever you think I'd like.

Q Sir, on homeland security, critics would say you simply haven't spent enough to keep the country secure.

1. OMG, it's TRUE.
:wow:

When I first read that, I wondered if someone in the office snuck LSD into my coffee.

Grabbing copies now before it all disappers down the Memory Hole.

2. I'm starting to think Bush is going to come down with an 8 month case of
Laryngitis. The more he opens his mouth (unscripted) the more he embarrasses this country.

3. In the UK
This dialogue appeared two weeks ago in "Press Gazette", the newspaper for journalists. So a lot of journalists know about it, but no one else. Odd that.

4. What, you guys havent seen the video of this?
I was shocked and awed by this mans snobbery and stupidity. Kid Rock is almost presidential compared to this clown.

5. Nope, because I avoid all TV news (except The Daily Show)
Watching any of it makes my head want to explode.

But if Jon Stewart did play it I missed it. :(

6. According to Snopes...
Some reporters just ambushed (pun not intended, but it works) * when he was trying to have a phony photo-op.

I salute you, David Gregory of NBC and Terry Moran of ABC!
