What's with the backdrop at Crawford ranch?? Are journalists set up in
front of run-down buildings on purpose in order to make it appear that Chimpy is just a good 'ol farm boy, not the boy king with a Nazi whore fortune??
Have seen several reporters in front of that same background; must be where the hired help lives.

1. I've never seen a picture of the ranch itself.
You know, that's interesting. The only backdrop I've ever seen is some old run down building and a bale of hay. Judging from the images I've seen on the news, Bush's ranch looks like something out of "Green Acres" :-)

Security reasons, possibly for not seeing the actual ranch?

2. That 'farm' they use is actually about 10 miles from Chimpys
place. Journalists aren't allowed near his Royal Highness...

:grr:

4. What would happen
if the media started taking pictures of the pig farm. People would see the pig farmer president.Ranch? Where are the horses? Where are the cows?

3. Wow: difference of opinion here
Those buildings look really UNrundown to me (and I've lived on or near farms most of my life). They seem "picturesque" and "authentic."

I'm reminded of a story about the set design of that thirties movie _Angels with Dirty Faces_. There's a scene that is supposed to have garbage in it--you know, it takes place in the tough inner city. But the studio required that all the garbage (e.g., grapefruit rinds) actually be washed before shooting began.

So "Western White House" media set = washed garbage.

This is, of course, an allegory for the entire media's relationship with the Bushies.

5. I agree, picturesque and authentic for a real farmer, not dress-up play
farmer with major bucks...
