Which wire service is Least GOP Controlled? - Pro-Choice March stories
Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 08:08 PM by papau
stories are an interesting starting point:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=578&e=2&u=/nm/20040425/pl_nm/rights_abortion_dc

Reuters gives an almost fair story (abortion policy rather than Women's rights and Choice are my only quibble):
Deborah Zabarenko -WASHINGTON (Reuters) Mass Protest Decries Bush Abortion Policies..... "There was no official crowd count, but organizers claimed more than 1 million people participated"

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=519&ncid=716&e=2&u=/ap/20040425/ap_on_re_us/women_s_march
The AP whores for the GOP as we knew it would:
ELIZABETH WOLFE, Associated Press Writer
Thousands March for Abortion Rights
various police sources informally estimated the throng at between 500,000 and 800,000 strong.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=1504&e=2&u=/afp/20040425/pl_afp/us_vote_abortion_040425213812
And AFP is the best - but it is conflicted as it tries to be "fair" and screws up on who told their reporter that the crowd may have been as small as 500,000 - they did not get that from the organizers!:
WASHINGTON (AFP)Hundreds of thousands march for women's rights in Washington
Organizers, who said this protest was larger than the 750,000 who attended the last abortion rights demonstration in 1992 (and then later in the article..... Organizers estimated 500,000 to 750,000 supporters turned out)

1. CNN Headline News just put the number at 300,000
Just reported it that way five minutes ago. I can't believe they get away with it.

2. CNN went full knee pad a few weeks ago - I feel sorry for Aaron Brown
Our media is just letting us know up front that they will be GOP whores again this year.

4. Arron Brown
is about the only good reporter on that station. Of course I might be biased, he went to the same school as I did in high school.

3.  At the close
of the march, they stated, the organizers of the march, that they had 1million1hundred and fifty thousnd.....IF one looks at the pictures the marchers go all the way PAST the wahington monument...it takes a whold lot more than 300,000. to fill up that space!

6. I have CNN Headline News on and I didn't hear
the 300,000 number. What I heard was "hundreds of thousands" and "the biggest ever" or something like that?
