Katie Couric smeared Kerry this morning on NBC's Today show

Katie noted that Kerry (who wasn't present) suspended his campaigning this week because no one would go to see him. Then she added, it might also be because he was doing it out of respect for Reagan.

We can note how Katie attributed a False Motive to Kerry's suspension of his campaign. She offered no source for her claim, undoubtedly because there was none. The False Motive gambit is often used against Democrats, but almost never used against Repubs. on NBC and the other networks.

In fact, Kerry had said the suspension was out of respect for Reagan. So, Katie fabricated a lie out of the whole cloth to smear Kerry.

We might also note that Katie assumed that the whole nation was solely concerned with Reagan's demise. Actually, if Kerry had campaigned this week he might have seen large crowds who were fed up with the media lies about the Reagan presidency.

kerry sure as hell did not suspend his campaign out of respect for that pos reagan. he did it for pragmatic reasons, he did not think it would be resourses well spent during reagan fest.

Her talents are perfect with interviewing fat cooks pimping their cookbooks and asking them if they use butter or margarine when they cook the onions.

Her fake smile reminds me of those preppy high school jock girls who tattle-tailed on their friends to the principal. Maybe they could get a better grade.
