5. The reason is a he is more useful to Bush, being a |
|
Democrat for Bush than a Republican for Bush. (see people on the other side are for me) never mind that he always votes with the Republicans. The Dems need to call him on this disengious game and now. I guess they, the Dems are hoping he will endorse the Dem seeking his Senate seat- his help didn't work for Cleland, so they should not worry about telling him to get the hell out now.

6. I watched MTP this morning because Zell Miller was on |
|
I thought I might gain some insight as to why Miller is the way he is. I guess I did find out why(on the surface) as to why he backs Bush, but it still makes no sense. He talked of JFK winning Georgia in 1960 with a wider margin that JFK's in Mass. Damn, how far back should we go? Should we start looking a the way-back machine to turn this country back to 1960s? In 1960, the cold war was almost smack dabb in the middle of its terror. No VietNam war, yet, no sexual revolution yet, but Dems should campaign like the same issues hold forth. I would bet that LBJ carried Georgia by a huge margin in 1964, but I would also bet that was the last time a Dem did well in Georgia, because of Civil Rights legislation and voting right legislation passed in 1964 and 1965. MTP showed a passage from his book about how he claimed the current Democratic Party tell one third of the nation to go to hell(that third being the South). Is the South so unique that it has to be catered to? Zell trumpted the number of elected African-Americans in Georgia, but he didn't mention the biggest issue in the 2002 election for Georgia, namely the Confederate flag. I would say that Zell has a very selective recall. I thought I would learn something. I didn't really. For me, the bottom line is that Zell has sold his soul for a cushy retirement after he leaves the Senate. I figure he will be in much demand by what is left of the military industrial complex. I don't care if he leaves the Democratic Party to not. He can call himself whatever he wants. As Ann Richards said, you can put lipstick on a pig and call it Monique, but its still a pig. When Zell Miller wakes up tomorrow, he will still be a fool.

the Civil Rights Bill! Georgia was then the "Old South" and still looks like the "Old South" if you look at Miller!

because the democrats are secretly run by the same cabal that runs the republicans. The democrats exist merely to give the illusion of a choice.

The latter asked him, "Why are you a Democrat?" His answer began with, "That's how I grew up."
So nostalgia seems to be the culprit. Rationalism is over-rated, anyway.

9. Wake UP! What is Zell? |
|
He's a self serving fascist. A fascist in the pure sense.* The GOP hierarchy is dominated by fascists. The Democratic Party is full of fascists but they haven't achieved the same level of dominance. Of course he'll support a fascist.
*Elitist. Wealth and military might always makes right. A specific “racial” group is superior and thus always makes the right decisions for all. The few who control the output of many. Pure, refined Capitolism.

12. When Rednecks vote Blue |
|
This is disturbing. Kentucky just voted for a Republican Governor. Not only are Conservative Southerners turning to Bush, but many Democrats in Congress are tripping over themselves to pass Bush tax cuts, and to fund his insane war. The Republicans are successfully infiltrating the party. Are there any mechanisms in the Democratic party for unity?
