Meet Pittsburgh's Mini-Rush

Here in Pittsburgh we have our own little fountain of right wing propaganda. His show is on KDKA every day from 3 to 5, following Rush, and if you happen to surf past you'd think Rush went into overtime cause you sure can't tell the difference.

Meet Fred Honsberger, aka "The Honz Man"




And no, he isn't wearing Groucho Marx glasses, he really does look like that.

Good old Honz is the most anti-union, anti-poor windbag I've ever heard. Yesterday he went on a near hysteric fit on a guy who couldn't find a job in the successful Bush Economy. According to Honz, if you can't find a job then you're lazy. Of course that job you find is at Wal-Mart for $5.15 but it means you're making the economy improve!

Today's rant was about Melissa Gilbert urging the Screen Actor's Guild to boycott Wal-Mart. Honz was at the ready with a parody commerical for The Union Store that sold all their products at 3x the cost because of the unions. Of course he doesn't seem to remember that the largest supermarket chain in Western PA, Giant Eagle, *is* a union store and their prices are about the same as their competitors.

When my dad died in 2002, I came back to Pittsburgh and turned on KDKA thinking I would hear Art Pallan and once again laugh at his sharp wit. Instead, Pigboy Limbaugh was on...

Quinn's a Ted Nugent type extreme military fetish right winger more than a Rush clone. Honz's show is pretty much Rush with a Pittsburgh accent.
