I'm thinking about looking for another job with a more progressive company. Any tips before I really start looking?

I got different hits on that. Also try the same search in http://www.barnesandnoble.com . Various books show up. These books would probably be available also in your library.

http://www.idealist.org and http://www.opportunitynocs.org are 2 specific sites.

Specifically about brokerage firms & banks take a look at http://www.greenpages.org category=Financial -- Banks & Credit Unions etc. There's a ton of places.
