perhaps largest of co-ops, in Basque region of spain, shows what can be done. Mondragon is its name.

make auto parts, appliances, do insurance, etc etc etc

5 billion in financial assets.

in McPherson Kansas, a co-op owns a refinery... since WW2.
They do rural electric .. huge electric plants... banking = Credit Unions

they are popular in Sweden.
