online savings banks - savingsSquare and FNBO direct - highest rates but how safe are they
not sure how I would review them to find out
savings square is an online version of kilpatrick bank http://www.savingssquare.com/
fnbo direct is online version of first national of omaha bank https://www.fnbodirect.com/01d/html/en/

I started with fnbodirect when it was 6% but the rate cuts from the feds have brought it down to 3.85%
Savings square was 4.8 when I started the application and they are now down to 4.00%

Both of these rates are equivalent to CD money market rates but with FDIC backing and therefore less risk and no time limit for keeping the funds - therefore you can withdraw or the rates can go up and down

1. bankrate.com
might give you places with a better rate. Follow the FDIC rules and you should be good.
