Today's economic events reminded me of a "Chinese Fire Drill". |
|
No disrespect intended to the Chinese people, it just describes a thing we did in the 60's and a trip to wikipedia gives its origin. (Darn, pre-senior moment) can't remember where the apostrophe goes.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_fire_drill

1. It's the end game for GOP dogma. They have no clue what to do. |
|
No matter how long they keep fattening the rich, not enough of it will be left to support the consumer economy, meaning the money pump is shutting down completely now that debt has been tightened. Finding cheaper labor and lowering prices won't work, either, because people have reached their debt limit and can't afford to service any more of it and still eat.
Chinese fire drill is a kind description for all the scrambling that's going on in the halls of power. Even the Democrats in power are at a loss, since they've forgotten all the lessons of the last Great Depression.
It's going to suck to be us for a while, at least until somebody figures out it's the monetarist/free market/deregulation/privatization dogma that is wrong.
