Citigroup to Cut 2, 000 More Jobs: Report
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Citigroup <C.N> plans to lay off another 2,000 investment bankers and traders before the end of the month, the New York Times reported on Thursday citing people close to the situation.

The company announced plans to eliminate about 4,200 jobs, the bulk of them in Citigroup's investment bank, in January and the Times said the new layoffs will bring the total to 6,000, or about 10 percent of its employee base.

Contacted by Reuters, Citigroup would not confirm information in the article.

The Times reported that most of the cuts will come from the bank's major offices in New York and London, though other markets in Europe and Asia could lose jobs.
