Untold Wealth: Super Rich to re-air tomorrow and next Thursday.
Edited on Sat Jun-28-08 04:00 PM by snappyturtle
If you really want to see the disparity in the incomes of this nation, watch this program. It set me back a notch or two.

Untold Wealth:Super Rich

Sunday, June 29th 9:00PM CST on CNBC
Thursday, July 3rd 6:00PM CST on CNBC

In the credits at the end of the program was the statistic that the median (half above and half below) income in the U.S. is $26,000. I am appalled.

edit:In 1985 there were 13 U.S. billionaires. Today there are more than 1000. See how the top .001% live in Untold Wealth: The Rise of the Super Rich.

Here's the place to go to see a preview and more about the program:

1. As the French Anthem "La Marseillaise" states in its chorus
To arms, citizens!
Form your battalions!
Let's march, let's march!
May impure blood
Water our furrows!
Liberty Equality Fraternity!

2. Trust me if you see this program you will want to do something!
Taking up arms? Our sensibilities wouldn't allow us to do that but there's something amiss.

3. That $26,000 is per capita (including kids, for example)
or "per household member." Median household income in 2006 was about $48,200 annually.

This doesn't the main point, though, that income stratification has increased and now is at incredible levels. Bush's economy has taken care of the top .001 at the expense of everyone else.
