The economic experts are calling it a bad thing while the incumbency is making everything sound rosy and begging us to "stay the course." Sounds exactly like Herbert Hoover.
As for the bank bailouts, well maybe we shouldn't have let the financial system get so shaky in the first place. But that means more government regulation or public financial institutions.
Bush puts a phony and twisted form of free market dogma above economic common sense. "Meteor about to crash into earth? don't worry, the free market will solve it. People will pay private companies to send missiles up and smash it to bits!"
