Two ideas being discussed, prevention of future financial crises |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 10:48 AM by Ah Xoc Kin
a financial product safety commission --to make sure that products bought and sold by banks, pension funds etc. are safe for the institution and for consumers
a financial systems stability commission -- to take an overview of the entire financial system
- edit.... these are interesting ideas but what happens when the industry challenges and tries to erode authority?

but the revolving door between the SEC and brokerages pretty much assured that the agency would remain disinterested and toothless.
What they need to do is nail all the revolving doors between corporations and the government shut and never open them again.
